Resilient Retirement

We recently hosted a workshop with retired physician, Dr. Tudiver, and our psychotherapist Jannah Tudiver, about Resilient Retirement.

Retirement is often viewed as the reward after years of hard work, but preparing for it requires thoughtful planning. Resilient retirement goes beyond having enough savings—it's about creating a lifestyle that ensures financial stability, emotional well-being, and physical health for the years ahead.

1. Financial Flexibility: Create a solid savings plan with diverse investments and an emergency fund. Flexibility is key—life changes, and so should your financial strategies. Consider speaking with a financial advisor to explore options like passive income or part-time work to maintain financial security.

2. Health and Wellness: Staying physically active and mentally engaged is crucial. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and preventive healthcare can help you enjoy your retirement without medical issues.

3. Community and Purpose: Maintaining strong social connections and finding meaningful activities, like volunteering or hobbies, can bring fulfilment. Retirement doesn't have to mean disengagement; it can be a time to pursue passions and contribute to your community.

Our workshop touched upon the emotional aspects of retirement, including talking about the 4 stages of retirement. If you missed it, feel free to watch the session recording below. The slides from the presentation are also here if you would like to look at them. Please share this with friends and family who may benefit from this workshop!
