Are you aged 50 or older and have been told you have low bone mineral density, osteopenia, or osteoporosis? You may be eligible to participate in a bone study!
We lose bone and muscle as we age. Exercise helps keep people healthy and independent as they age. However, we don't know what types of exercise best prevent bone loss in people with osteoporosis, or low bone mineral density. In this study, the researchers will compare three different types of exercise to help inform exercise recommendations for people with osteoporosis or low bone mineral density.
For this study, they are looking for men and postmenopausal women who:
are aged 50 or over
have received two vaccines for COVID-19
have low bone density, oseopenia, or osteoporosis
are willing to participate in twice weekly exercise sessions for 12 months
You will be reimbursed for the parking or public transportation costs of attending the sessions.
